The Secret Life of Bees

In the book The Secret Life of Bees the main conflict that I see is that Lily is trying to find direction in her life. I think that Lily thinks that her mother is giving her signs about certain things like "Our Chains of Mary." I believe that Lily is making the right decisions by following the voices in her head because if she would have stayed with T. Ray she would of been living an unfullfilling life. I would be doing the same things as she is if I were in her situation. Lily had killed her mom and if she didn't try and venture out I think she wouldnt be respecting her mother. I feel as if her mother wanted a better life for her than living with T. Ray and that she had respected her mother by running away and meeting August and the family with the bees.
