The Case for a National ID Card

In Margaret Carlson’s essay, The Case for a National ID Card, she explains how she believes that if we all had ID cards that it would be easier for the government to suspect threats to our country. In this essay she argues that there are a lot of places that only require a driver’s license as a form of identification, but all a driver’s license says is that you know how to drive. I agree with her 100% and think that the government should issue out a national identification card so that whenever you show it they will know exactly who you are. I also don’t believe it is invading privacy either because I believe that if you don’t have anything to hide you won’t get in trouble.
